Comments: Found out about the USS Hollister recently. Named after three brothers (including William ). Almost certainly related in some way, there just aren't that many of us, but to be honest, I am unaware of the connection.

Comments: I was an ensign in the engineering division, 19'71-'72. I remember my first Westpac tour when we hit a typhoon on the way to Yokosuka and went dead stick in the water. Anyone else remember that time? Later was transferred to USS Midway as main engines officer.

Comments: I served on the Hollister during the Korean War. 1951-1953. We were in the Korean waters receiving fire on the 38th parallel. I was not chosen, however I was one of the crew to volunteer for the night raid in July 1952. I was a fireman serving with my brother Delbert Hill.
