Comments: Served on board from 1971 to 1972 as a SM2. Just after Christmas 1972 I started back to Long Beach and discharge. Had some great shipmates on the Jolly Holly. Certainly remember Aug 9 72 and the 3 ship attack on North Viet Nam...I was a phone talker assigned to the Captain. That was wild. Would love to hear from anyone on board then.

Comments: I served on board this vessel ( 1978-1979 ) proudly to defend my country against all enemies foreign and domestic. Any one who tries to deny this fact is a traitor and deserves death. God bless America. My country that I risked my life for. I still love America even though i have been discriminated against, abused, taken advantage of and even physically injured by other american citizens. And anyone who tries to deny me of this honor should be placed before a firing squad. God bless America! God bless my girlfriend!!! To me she is America.

Comments: Presently residing in Eastvale, CA Between Ontario and Corona. I was on The Happy Holly-maru homeported out of Yokosuka Japan during 1966-1968 as a Radarman. I was a 2nd Class aboard and was part of the team that helped produce "DD Oversea" a cruise book about the men of the USS Hollister DD788. I only have my copy of that cruise book and a copy of the cruise book for USS Henry W. Tucker DD875 where I went after leaving The Hollister.
