Comments: Served on board the USS Hollister as a RD in 1969-70 prior to being transferred to the USS Gridley 1970-71. Old #788 was a great tin-can with a great group of guys. 66 years old now but will never forget my first WesPac tour with CRD Stephanson. God Bless the CDR and the entire crew of the USS Hollister, DD-788 out of Long Beach, CA.

Comments: I served aboard the Hollister from 1969-1973 as A Boiler Technician third class(BT3). I worked inboth the forward and after firerooms and was Oil King for about a year. While serving one of our two tours of duty in Viet Nam, we were part of the Christmas bombings and Operation Linebacker. These were some of the best memories of my life and I often wish I would have stayed and retired from the navy. Thanks USS Hollister.
