Comments: I was on Hollister from Feb 1971 to June 1975. I was Sonar Tech 2 with Wayne "Lumpy" Singleterry, AJ Bradley, Gunnersmates Det Breyman, Flyrod, Torpedoman Tedeski, PJ Parker, Juan?
Made the last WESPAC to VN 1972. Since VN did not have submarines, I was assigned to GYRO Room for AFT 5' guns. We melted the barrels and had to go to Sasabo JPN for new barrels via Hong Kong.
Yes, I remember Shrike On Board (SOB) and the radar site bombardment run to Tonkin Bay ??
Spent my last 2 yrs on Hollister training Reserves on weekends and being torpedo target for SD sub practice off Santa Catalina Island.

Comments: Served aboard the Holly Maru from May of 1966 to September of 1969. Quartermaster 3rd Class. Married 46 years to my best friend and love of my life. WE have a daughter and 2 sons, and we are Papa & Mimi to 4 wonderful Grandkids here, and 4 Angel Grandbabies. God's Blessings to all!

Comments: Served from 76-79 as e1 thru e4 quartermaster . It was great to start my Navy career there , I stayed in the reserves after I left there for another 21 years . Great to meet people from nearly all the states we served to protect. Some of my proudest times and people that became my second family . Comments: I was in the aft Fire room from 1972 to 1976. I was given the nick name Mrs BEASLEY because of the Doll on the TV show Family Affair. Most of the guys had nicknames. So It seems That is the name you Remmber. If anyone knows 2 guys from Aft. Fire Room with the nick name Horse and Rosie I would like to contact them.

Comments: I served on the Hollister from 1961 - 1964. Joined the ship in Bremerton, Washington and departed 2 weeks before deployment to Viet Nam. Many good memories... SOG E5

Comments: I served as the ASW officer (LT.JG) in 1971 and 1972. We were deployed to Viet Nam with Shrike missiles mounted on our ASROC to shoot at radar sites. They worked!
