I served aboard the Hollister from 1969 to 1972. When I left I was in charge of the shipfitter / damage control shop and was a DC2. Had some good times, to much San Miguel in the P.I. though, lots of brain cells disappeared somewhere there.

I was aboard the Hollister from Nov., 1955 to Aug., 1956 when I left for discharge in San Diego. I was an ET2. I remember really good chow that was put out by the crew under control of a Chief Commissarymand. I don't remember his name, but he was Greek, as I recall. I was aboard when the ship went through the Mare Island Naval Shipyard in early 1956. Never made a WesPac cruise on the Hollister, but came aboard from the Chevalier (DDR-805) and made two cruises on her.
